Purchase of SSL certificate and CSR generation

  1. Customer selects the preferred SSL certificate.
  2. Customer makes payment on their selected SSL certificates.
  3. Proceed to the client area and you should see the purchased services
  4. Click view details to select the SSL certificate you wish to validate.
  5. Customer should be able to view the required details to validate their request for SSL issuance. When the customer clicks on "Submit Certificate Request", which is highlighted above in red, they'll be shown the traditional field for entering a Certificate Signing Request. If the customer does not have a CSR, they can click "Create New CSR" as highlighted below:
  6. The customer can also see the domain that the SSL cert is intended for by clicking additional information.
  7. Customer can begin the CSR (certificate signing request) by clicking create new CSR to prompt the form to submit the additional details
  8. A form will pop up to prompt the customer to fill in the CSR details. After filling in the details. The customer will click generate CSR to initiate the CSR code.
  9. The CSR code will be generated and automatically populated without the user intervention. Once submitted successfully, the customer can optionally download the CSR Keypair, and then they must click "Submit CSR" to continue:
  10. The customer will provide information to be validated before getting the SSL Certificate.
  11. By clicking company name, the customer can also view the company information/details they submitted while generating the CSR. This can also be amended at this stage. Customer can also provide their main mobile phone number for contact purposes. The customer will proceed and clock organisation address to populate the organization details.
  12. After clicking orgarnisation address, the customer will be prompted to fill the below details. Please ensure you provide the same address used by your company to conduct business.
  13. The customer will click confirm to review the details before submitting.
  14. Now the customer must select a Domain Control Validation method. There are three methods available: Email, DNS, and HTTP File. The options are shown below. Once the customer has submitted DCV, then usual processes will take effect. The only thing that has changed is that the customer did not have to leave the Safaricom Website to generate a CSR.
  15. Once the customer submits the validation request, they will be taken back to the client area and an email will be sent to their domain admin.
